Do you like DIY single-take music videos by unknown bands that feature axe throwing and sparks?

Over a year ago Kevin Fine and I came up with an ambitious idea, make a choreographed single-take video for the Herb & Jellyfish song, “Self Cherishing.” The song which addresses societies collective addiction to ego boosting online, was choreographed and lip synced to a sped up version of the recording. We then lowered the frame rates while filming with a Steadi-cam which gives the video a slow motion feel.

To Jake, Dre, Rob, Jason, thank you for making an amazing album and for all your support with the 2019 Hustle release.

To Kevin, you’re work in film and the creative arts has always inspired me, thank you for joining in making art since 2008.

To SFI, Eldon Shoemaker, Steven Bradford, Jason Lackie, and Ed Brooks - well hell, just watch the video, the filming, lighting, mixing, and mastering of this song speaks for itself.

To myself - Hey buddy, you NAILED that axe throw!
